Itinerary

Trade repetitive loops for an authentic point-to-point adventure where both land and sea move with you. Each day, you will join a guided trail run experience, ensuring every guest finds the right balance of challenge and enjoyment. With varying distances and elevation gains, This trip is designed for seasoned trail runners as well as passionate beginners with some trail experience. Disclaimer: Distances and elevation gain may vary depending on the fitness level of the group, weather, and environmental conditions. Additionally, each day will offer different route intensities to accommodate all guests.
Day 1:
Welcome and Sail to Palagruža

Your journey begins at 15:00 PM with check-in at Rodi Garganico, Puglia. Meet your crew and board the yacht before setting sail to Palagruža, a remote Adriatic island. Relax onboard and enjoy the open sea during this 3-4 hour crossing. Spend the night anchored in this peaceful, off-the-grid destination.

Day 2:
Sail to Lastovo and Sunset Run

After an 8–9 hour sail to Lastovo, enjoy a short trail run through its untouched landscapes—choose a sunset run for a magical finish.

Distance: 5-10 km / 3-6.2 miles (elevation 250 m)
Day 3:
Trail Running on Lastovo and Sail to Mljet

Begin the day with a challenging morning run through Lastovo’s lush greenery and dramatic cliffs. After refueling onboard, sail to Mljet (3-4 hours), known for its serene national park and pristine beaches.

Trail Running Distance: 13-15 km / 8-9.3 miles (elevation 350 m)
Day 4:
Korčula - Choose Your Challenge

Kick off the morning with a sunrise run in Mljet National Park, where forest trails and saltwater lakes create a paradise for explorers. Later, sail to Korčula (3-4 hours), arriving in time for an optional sunset run along the island’s stunning coastline.

Trail Running Distance (morning): 12-18 km / 7.5-11.2 miles (elevation 150-250 m)
Day 5:
Explore Korčula and Sail to Hvar

Enjoy a long trail run on Korčula, taking in coastal views, olive groves, and rugged ridgelines. After your adventure, sail to Hvar (3-4 hours), an island known for its beauty and culture.

Trail Running Distance: 10-25 km / 6.2-15.5 miles (elevation 200-450 m)
Day 6:
Trail Running on Hvar and Night Sail to Marina

Spend your day running or Hvar’s iconic trails, exploring lavender fields, rocky climbs, and panoramic views. In the Evening, sail to Vis (3-4 hours), known for its rich cultural heritage.

Trail Running Distance: 6-12 km / 3.7-7.4 miles (elevation 400-700 m)

Day 7:
Vis Exploration and Night Sail to Marina

Spend your final full day running Vis’s iconic trails, exploring ancient fortresses and pristine coastlines. Afterward, sail to Bisevo (1-2 hours) for a celebratory dinner, then embark on a night sail back to the marina (8-12 hours).

Day 8:
Departure

What’s Included?

What you’ll get:

  • 8-day adventure featuring guided and supported trail runs along coastal and inland routes.
  • Private sailing yacht or catamaran accommodations (Sun Odyssey 490 / Excess 14).
  • All meals listed in the itinerary (3/4 onboard, 1/4 ashore in local trattorias).
  • Certified trail running guide onboard.
  • Bed linen and bath towels.
  • Safety equipment and full onboard comfort (Wi-Fi, AC, generator, watermaker, SUP, snorkel gear, etc.).
  • Fuel and onboard utilities.

A cash payment of €350 per person is required upon boarding to cover:

  • Food and pantry service

  • Trail running shoes, backpack/vest, poles (must be brought individually).

  • Shuttle service to/from Bari or Pescara (available upon request).

How Fit Do I Need to Be?

This trip is ideal for both seasoned trail runners and motivated beginners with a solid fitness base. You should be comfortable running on uneven terrain and prepared for multiple days of running with elevation gain. Steeper sections will be hiked as a group, but the routes can still be demanding. Come ready for back-to-back trail runs with your gear on your back.

What to Pack

To ensure your comfort and safety, please bring:

  • Trail running shoes
  • Comfortable running attire
  • Spare layers for warmth and weather changes
  • A waterproof rain jacket
  • Trail poles (optional)
  • Water bottle or hydration system (2L capacity)
  • Sunglasses, a sunhat, and sunscreen
  • Toiletries (including bug spray and hand sanitizer)
  • A camera (optional but recommended)

Dress for the season and avoid restrictive clothing like jeans. Layers are your best friend!

General Gear for All Maca Adventures:

  • Flip flops or sandals for use on the boat
  • Clean, non-marking rubber-soled shoes for the deck
  • Beach towel
  • Personal towel for outdoor use
  • Waterproof windbreaker

Group Size and Age Requirements

Group sizes:

  • A maximum of 12 participants ensures personalized guidance and a close-knit experience.
  • The usual ratio is one guide for every 8 runners.

Age requirements:

  • Participants must be 18 or older to join.
  • Minors under 18 may be allowed with a parent or guardian, depending on the circumstances. Contact us for details.

Getting There and Meeting Point

Your adventure begins in Rodi Garganico, a picturesque coastal town in Puglia, Italy.

The nearest major airport is Bari Airport (BRI), located approximately 3 hours away. From Bari, you can reach Rodi Garganico via:

  • Train: Direct regional trains connect Bari to Rodi Garganico, offering a scenic journey along the Adriatic coast.
  • Car: Rent a car for a flexible and convenient drive to the marina.
  • Bus: Several bus services operate between Bari and Rodi Garganico.

You’ll meet the group at the marina in Rodi Garganico at 10:00 AM on the first day of your adventure. Your guide will provide detailed instructions and meeting information prior to your arrival.

Safety and Insurance

To ensure peace of mind during your adventure, we strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel and medical insurance. This should cover trip cancellations, medical emergencies, and any unexpected interruptions.

Deposits and Cancellation Policy

Secure Your Spot for 2025
To reserve your place on an unforgettable Maca adventure, the total trip amount must be paid in full at the time of booking. Early birds benefit from a 12.5% discount, making it easier to lock in your adventure and help us ensure smooth preparations for your trip.

Cancellation Policy

If your plans change, here’s how refunds will be handled:

  • More than 45 days before departure: You are eligible for a full refund of the total amount.
  • 45–30 days before departure: You will receive a 50% refund of the total amount.
  • Less than 30 days before departure: Unfortunately, no refunds will be provided.

Important Notes:

  • All cancellation requests must be made in writing via email.
  • Payments for extras during the trip (e.g., additional services or equipment) must be settled in cash at boarding.
  • If Maca cancels the trip, you’ll receive a full refund of the amount paid or the option to transfer your payment to another trip. Maca is not responsible for additional costs such as flights or accommodations.
  • Force Majeure: In the rare case of cancellations due to unforeseen events such as severe weather, political unrest, or other emergencies beyond our control, refunds cannot be provided. However, we will do our best to assist you in transferring your booking to a future trip.

A Private Cabin offers a double-sized bed, ideal for couples or close friends looking for extra space and privacy during the trip.

A Shared Cabin is a great option for solo travelers who don’t mind sharing a space and want to connect with like-minded adventurers. It’s the perfect way to meet new people while experiencing the journey together.
