The Adriatic is more than stunning waters and sunsets - it’s a paradise for climbers, hikers, and sailors alike. Over seven days, tackle Croatia’s dramatic limestone cliffs, deep water solo in secluded bays, and explore via ferratas and technical trekking routes. Whether pushing your limits on overhangs or taking in scenic hikes, this trip blends adventure and relaxation perfectly. Disclaimer: Routes and activities will be adjusted to accommodate different experience levels, ensuring both beginner and advanced participants have a fulfilling adventure.
Day 1:
Welcome and Sail to Palagruža

Your journey begins at 15:00 PM with check-in at Rodi Garganico, Puglia. Meet your crew and board the yacht before setting sail to Palagruža, a remote Adriatic island. Relax onboard and enjoy the open sea during this 3-4 hour crossing. Spend the night anchored in this peaceful, off-the-grid destination.

Day 2:
Sailing Across the Adriatic to Mala Stiniva Bay

Set sail early in the morning, crossing the Adriatic Sea towards Croatia. By the afternoon, you’ll arrive at Mala Stiniva Bay, known for its dramatic limestone cliffs and crystal-clear waters. Choose between:

  • Climbing sport routes beginner-friendly slabs 5c - 7a
  • A guided technical trek through the bay’s rocky terrain

Meals: Breakfast, snacks, and dinner

Day 3:
Velika Steniva Bay - Challenging climbs

After breakfast onboard, sail to Velika Steniva, a fantastic sport climbing destination. Options for the day include:

  • Classic sport climbing on technical routes with stunning views and overhanging crags 5a - 8c
  • A scenic hike with viewpoints over the bay for those who prefer to keep their feet on solid ground.

Day 4:
Veliki Pokrivenik - Lead Climbing

Cruise to Veliki Pokrivenik, a hidden gem along the Croatian coastline. With towering cliffs and diverse terrain, activities include:

  • Sport climbing on bolted routes with options from 5a to 8b.
  • Intro to lead climbing session for those looking to take their skills further.

Day 5:
Plaza Lucisca - Multi-Pitch Opportunities

Today, a long sail (6-8h) to Plaza Lucisca, a beautiful bay with climbing, hiking, and exploration opportunities. Choose from:

  • Challenging Sport climbing routes 5b - 8c
  • An advanced multi-pitch climb for experienced climbers.
A scenic trek through the bay’s hidden trails.

Day 6:
Discover Hvar’s Hidden Crags

Wake up near the island of Hvar and head to secluded coastal cliffs only accessible by boat. Climb limestone walls rising straight from the sea or join a guided hike to panoramic viewpoints above the crags. Choose from:

  • Sport climbing routes 5a – 7b on seaside cliffs
  • Relaxed bouldering on beachside rocks
  • A scenic coastal hike with cliffside views

Day 7:
Cliffbase - Last challenge

On your last full day, challenge yourself with the most difficult projects at Cliffbase or just relax and enjoy the scenery, it’s the perfect way to close out the adventure. In The evening embark on a night sail back to the marina (8-12 hours).

  • Climbing 150+ climbs for all levels 5a -7c
  • DWS climbing explore the 300m wide DWS wall 
  • Via Ferrata climb the stunning Via Ferrata over the vineyards of Sveta Nedjelja

Departure

What’s Included in the Adventure?

  • 7-day adventure featuring guided and supported climbing, hiking, and via ferrata experiences.
  • Private yacht accommodations.

A cash payment of €350 per person is required upon boarding to cover:

  • Food and pantry service

How Fit Do I Need to Be?

At Maca, all fitness levels are welcome. Our daily sailing activities provide moderate exercise to keep you active and engaged. We offer various climbing activities throughout the trip based on the group's preferences, including Deep Water Soloing. This tour is ideal for those with a minimum climbing grade of 5a due to the overhanging routes, but less experienced climbers are also welcome! Our expert guides ensure a safe and enjoyable adventure for everyone, allowing you to challenge yourself and embrace the thrill of the journey.

What Should I Pack?

Space is limited onboard, so avoid hard-shell suitcases and pack light with a soft, foldable bag.

Essentials:

  • Small backpack for day trips
  • Climbing shoes & chalk bag
  • Comfortable hiking shoes
  • Layered clothing: Warm pullover, waterproof jacket, long & short pants
  • Swimwear & towel
  • Reusable water bottle
  • Sunscreen, bug spray & toiletries
  • Sunglasses & hat

Dress appropriately for the season, prioritizing breathable, flexible clothing to stay comfortable during all activities.

Group Sizes and Age

Our sailing and climbing trips are designed to balance adventure and community, ensuring a well-supported and engaging experience.

  • Guide Ratio: 1 guide per 9 participants for expert guidance and safety.
  • Group Size: Minimum 5 participants required for the trip to run.
  • Cabin Arrangements: Each yacht has at least 3 cabins with double beds. Couples have priority, while other sleeping arrangements can be decided within the group.
  • Larger Groups: Custom trips can be arranged—contact us for details.

Age Requirements

  • 18+ – Open to all adult participants.
  • Under 18? – Allowed on a case-by-case basis and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • If your group includes minors, please reach out before booking to discuss options.

Where Does the Trip Start?

Your journey begins and ends in Rodi Garganico, Puglia. The closest major airport is Bari International Airport, approximately 3 hours away. From there, you can take a train, bus, or taxi to the harbor.

Boarding starts at 6 pm on the first day, so plan your travel accordingly. You’ll return to Rodi Garganico by late afternoon on the final day.

How Do Payments and Cancellations Work?

To reserve your place on an unforgettable Maca adventure, the total trip amount must be paid in full at the time of booking. Early birds benefit from a 12.5% discount, making it easier to lock in your adventure and help us ensure smooth preparations for your trip.

Cancellation Policy

If your plans change, here’s how refunds will be handled:

  • More than 45 days before departure: You are eligible for a full refund of the total amount.
  • 45–30 days before departure: You will receive a 50% refund of the total amount.
  • Less than 30 days before departure: Unfortunately, no refunds will be provided.

Important Notes:

  • All cancellation requests must be made in writing via email.
  • Payments for extras during the trip (e.g., additional services or equipment) must be settled in cash at boarding.
  • If Maca cancels the trip, you’ll receive a full refund of the amount paid or the option to transfer your payment to another trip. Maca is not responsible for additional costs such as flights or accommodations.
  • Force Majeure: In the rare case of cancellations due to unforeseen events such as severe weather, political unrest, or other emergencies beyond our control, refunds cannot be provided. However, we will do our best to assist you in transferring your booking to a future trip.

Private Cabin or Shared Cabin?

A Private Cabin offers a double-sized bed, ideal for couples or close friends looking for extra space and privacy during the trip.

A Shared Cabin is a great option for solo travelers who don’t mind sharing a space and want to connect with like-minded adventurers. It’s the perfect way to meet new people while experiencing the journey together.
